His comment comes shortly after fellow Nigerian artiste Slimcase voiced similar concerns about the current state of Afrobeats.

According to the Shaku Shaku hitmaker, many Afrobeats artists are beginning to sound repetitive, which is reducing excitement for new releases.

Slimcase suggested that Afrobeats musicians should slow down their output to reignite anticipation among fans.

He noted that the frequent release of new songs is “killing” the genre.
