Veteran actor Babatunde ‘Fokoko’ Bamgbode has stated that Musiliu ‘MC Oluomo’ Akinsanya did not promise any financial rewards to celebrities who campaigned for President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 elections.
Fokoko’s position comes in response to recent grievances from fellow actors Alapini and Lalude (born Fatai Odua), who voiced regret and a feeling of neglect, asserting that they were not rewarded for their support.
In a recent interview with Oyinmomo TV, the actor dismissed claims that MC Oluomo, president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), had made any such promise.

He explained that the celebrities were well taken care of during the campaign, which included distributing food items to communities and market stalls.
“Oluomo called us and told us what was in his capacity to do and what was available for each person,” he said.
“We were camped. We would go out and come back in and our rights were given to us on each day. There was a time some people among us wanted to scatter the arrangement and Oluomo intervened and settled it.”
The actor stated that Oluomo gave a considerable cash gift following the conclusion of the campaign.
“While we were doing that job, he brought us food stuffs. The food we shared with the people. He told us to share the remaining food stuff among ourselves. Everybody took the food stuff home, not once, not twice,” he added.
“He did not promise any of us nothing. He did not promise me anything that he would say, ‘Baba Fokoko, when you are done with the job I would give you something’. But he had it in mind to treat us well. It’s been more than two years! He didn’t promise to give anyone anything.
“After (the campaign) that we had a meeting, he still gave us some money that is significant.
“(As per Lalude and Alapini) you would be the one to judge that. He did not specifically called me. I know there are are other people like me who would testify to this. These people are lovers of Oluomo. If anything comes out from the president tomorrow.
“When they now claimed he said when you are done with the programme, this is how much you would collect equally, No, he did not say that.”
