Nigerian comedian Julius Agwu is grieving the passing of his mother.
Agwu shared the news on his X page on Wednesday, posting a touching video from one of his visits to her on the farm.
The footage captured a touching moment when he surprised his mother, fondly known as Mama Gee, as she peeled cassava stems.

Her face lit up with joy when she saw him, and they shared a warm exchange in their local dialect, highlighting their close bond.
“My dearest mother has gone to be with the Lord Mama Gee, you will be dearly missed. Rest in peace,” he wrote.
Although the comedian did not reveal the exact date of her passing, he conveyed his deep sense of loss, describing her as someone he “will dearly miss” and wishing her eternal rest.
Agwu started his career performing on stage in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he was raised.
He has appeared in several television series and films, including Torn (2013), A Long Night (2014), and After Count (2011). He is also well-known for his iconic Mama Junior comedy.
In April 2022, the actor made headlines amid concerns about his health, with rumours circulating that his wife had left him because of his condition.
Later that year, the comedian confirmed the rumours, revealing that he and his wife had indeed parted ways.
He further acknowledged that the reports concerning his health challenges were accurate.
