“Governor Alia has demonstrated total respect for the rule of law and, in the spirit of collaboration, acted swiftly in line with the resolutions of this House,” Akya said.

He further explained that the governor has shown genuine concern for the welfare of Benue citizens by responding promptly to issues raised by the Assembly.

“The Governor’s commitment to addressing the demands of this House underscores his uncommon dedication to the people of Benue State,” he added.

Zamber noted that lawmakers also commended the Speaker for his leadership, which they said has sustained the stability of the 10th Assembly.

“The House commended the Honourable Speaker for his exceptional leadership which has enabled the smooth running of the tenth Assembly,” he stated.

The lawmakers, however, strongly condemned external efforts to destabilize the legislature.

“The House condemned in totality the ongoing attempts by non-state actors to undermine the leadership of the House by instigating moves to impeach the Speaker without just cause,” the statement read.

It added that such actions were aimed at destabilizing the peace and progress of the Assembly and the state at large.

The Assembly thereafter unanimously passed a vote of confidence, affirming support for Governor Alia and Speaker Dajoh while rejecting what it described as “destructive interference” in its internal affairs.
