Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has urged his players to maintain total focus and intensity when they face Lesotho in Friday’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier tomorrow, Soccernet.ng reports.
Nigeria, still chasing their first win of the qualification campaign, will be aiming to secure all three points and revive their hopes of topping Group C.
The Super Eagles have opened camp in South Africa with key stars such as Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, and Wilfred Ndidi all expected to feature.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Chelle admitted that World Cup qualification remains open to every team and emphasised that Nigeria must stay mentally sharp to overcome the Crocodiles.
“Everybody can go to the World Cup. This is football — anything can happen during the game because of the weather, the referee, injuries, or other factors. So, we need to stay focused on what we want from this game,” the coach said.

Chelle further touched on the importance of starting strong and playing with purpose against a Lesotho side that has grown in confidence.
“We want to have this victory, and after that, there will be another game. So, for sure, we must be 100% focused on this match tomorrow against Lesotho — a great team with a good coach.
We need to start well, with a lot of intensity and aggressiveness, to score and to win this game.”
