The Governor of Katsina state, Mallam Umar Dikko Radda, has applauded the sacrifices of the Nigerian Army towards curtailing the security challenges experienced in Katsina state in particular and the nation as a whole.
A statement by Acting Director, Army Public Relations Lieutenant Colonel Appolonia Anele, disclosed that the governor gave the commendation when he visited the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede in his office at the Army Headquarters.
Governor Radda noted with satisfaction the dedication of the troops in combating the security challenges in Katsina state.
He stressed that the significant achievements recorded in the area of security were due to the selfless sacrifice and doggedness of the troops.
He appreciated the invaluable support of the COAS to the troops operating in the state.
The governor further appreciated the visit of the COAS to Katsina where he motivated the troops in all spheres , enabling them to discharge their duties effectively.
The Governor expressed the readiness of the Katsina state government to partner with the Nigerian Army to establish an additional unit in the state to further enhance security.
He appreciated the synergy existing between the Katsina Watch Corps and the Nigerian Army and further emphasized the cordial relationship between his Government and the 17 Brigade, emphasizing that such collaboration is what is needed to defeat the adversaries.
Responding, the COAS appreciated the Governor for the visit and assured him that the Nigerian Army under his watch will continue to make necessary sacrifices in securing not only Katsina state but the entire nation.
The COAS commended the Government and the good people of Katsina state for their tremendous support to the Nigerian Army, and urged that such invaluable support be sustained.
General Oluyede reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Nigerian Army to safeguarding law-abiding citizens, protect communities and create secure conditions economic growth.
