Promising Nigerian forward Olawale Ayodele has completed a move to Hungarian top-flight side Zalaegerszegi TE (ZETE) from Real Sapphire FC, a club based in Lagos state, Nigeria.
Olawale Ayodele caught the attention of scouts with his impressive displays in the Nationwide League One (NLO) last season.
Ayodele, known for his pace and eye for goal, will now look to make his mark in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I, Hungary’s top division starting from this season.
Meanwhile, the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) has imposed a transfer ban on Nigeria National League (NNL) side Heartland FC.
The sanction prevents the Owerri-based club from registering new players for the next three transfer windows after failing to pay outstanding entitlements owed to their former player, N’Goran Roland Adjourmani Koffi.
Koffi, who featured for Heartland during the 2023-2024 NPFL season, is reportedly still owed several months’ wages. According to FIFA’s letter to the club, the ban will remain in place until full payment is made to the Ivorian midfielder.
Note that the Nigeria Football Federation’s Players’ Status and Arbitration Committee had earlier ordered Heartland to settle unpaid wages owed to several former players, including Umah Johnson, Esobe Chukwudi, Ezekiel Bassey, and Ugochukwu Leonard.
