Former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore, has expressed confidence that he will clinch the party’s ticket ahead of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
Omisore, who made the declaration on Tuesday, in Osogbo, said he is optimistic that over 90 percent of APC members in the state will support his ambition during the primaries.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had earlier fixed the APC governorship primaries for between November 24 and December 15, 2025.

The main election, according to the timetable, is scheduled to hold on August 8, 2026.
Speaking during his official declaration, the former lawmaker who represented Osun East Senatorial District between 2003 and 2011, said his campaign is already enjoying strong grassroots support across the state.
“Going forward, I am expecting Osun State people to vote for APC en masse come August 8, 2026,” Omisore stated.
“This is to show the preparedness of the core APC members in the state, to show how ready we are to ensure that I become the party candidate by God’s grace in December.”
The former senator further described the forthcoming primary as an “internal family contest” within the APC, emphasising the unity and determination of members to reclaim power in the state.
“APC’s chance in 2026 is 100 percent. These are volunteers from every nook and cranny of the state, and this is just within the party, not the public.
“We are fully ready for the forthcoming primaries in December,” he added confidently.
