Human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has raised doubts about whether winners of the Big Brother Naija reality show actually receive their full prize money.
Taking to his Facebook page on Monday, Adeyanju questioned the transparency of the organisers, claiming that several past winners appear to have fallen into financial struggles after the show.
“Do they really give BBNaija winners the prize money? The reason I am asking is because many of them end up looking extremely broke thereafter,” he wrote.

His comment came just a day after Imisi was announced as the winner of the 10th edition of Big Brother Naija, walking away with a grand prize of ₦150 million on Sunday.
Adeyanju’s statement quickly sparked debate online, with many fans of the reality show urging him to back up his claims by naming former winners who allegedly became poorer after their victory. However, the activist did not provide any names in response.
It will be recalled that Phyna, the winner of the seventh edition of Big Brother Naija in 2022, accused the organisers on several occasions of failing to deliver all her promised prizes.
