“Working with local vigilantes, the team arrested one suspect, Amara Nwako 21, while his accomplice fled into an uncompleted building. A locally made pistol was recovered during a search. “On October 3, 2025, operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), led by the Commander, CSP Nosa Alex, acting on credible intelligence, conducted a targeted raid on a suspected criminal hideout around the Basket Market area of Asaba.

“During the operation, three suspects, Rabbi Godwin, 25, Lucky Nanakumo 20, and David Igwe 19, were arrested. One fabricated Beretta pistol was recovered. The suspects remain in RRS custody as investigators intensify efforts to arrest additional gang members and recover more weapons.”

In a separate operation, Edafe revealed that the Command apprehended a suspected drug dealer and seized various illicit substances in Asaba, the state capital.

He explained that in a different operation, the Eagle Net Special Squad in Asaba, under the leadership of SP Danyaya Yunusa, worked in collaboration with the Office of the Executive Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Illicit Drugs and Human Trafficking.

The joint team intercepted a truck bearing registration number 3BGT 18LG, driven by a 52-year-old man identified as Dennis Uruma.

He stated that a thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a large quantity of suspected illicit drugs, and the driver was immediately taken into custody.

Edafe called on residents to stay alert and provide timely, reliable information to assist the Police in their efforts to protect lives and property.

He assured that the Command remains committed to collaborating with relevant agencies and community stakeholders to dismantle criminal networks, seize illegal weapons, and disrupt drug distribution channels across the state.
