The Yobe State Police Command has intensified enforcement operations on the use of vehicles with tinted windows, impounding 70 vehicles with various traffic offenses. This move is aimed at forestalling criminal activities by disgruntled elements who use tinted glasses to perpetrate crimes in the state.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Yobe Police Command Damaturu, SP Dungus Abdulkarim revealed in a statement. According to him the Police Command has recorded a series of criminal incidents linked to vehicles with tinted glasses, including a recent vehicle burglary along the Damaturu-Potiskum road where ₦500,000.00 was stolen by criminals operating with tinted vehicles.

The Police are taking decisive action to curb the use of tinted glasses in vehicles, which are often used to conceal the identities of suspects. The command is urging vehicle owners to comply with the Motor Traffic Regulations Act and remove tinted glasses from their vehicles to avoid impoundment.
The enforcement of the tinted glass permit is expected to enhance security in the state by reducing the ability of criminals to use tinted vehicles for nefarious activities. The Police Command is committed to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in Yobe State.
