The Dangote Industry Ltd. has pledged its commitment to investing in education through scholarship schemes, healthcare and other sectors to boost socio-economic activities in Nigeria.

Alhaji Hashem Ahmed, General Manager and Federal Government Liaison Officer of the company, made this known at the Dangote Special Day, in the ongoing 20th Abuja International Trade Fair (AITF) in Abuja.

The theme of the trade fair is “Sustainability: Consumption, Incentives, and Taxation.”

The fair commenced on Sept. 25 and will end on Oct. 6 2025.

Ahmed said that the Dangote Group was committed in ensuring strong foundation to the Environment, Society and good corporate Governance (ESG).

“We will continue to invest in education through scholarship schemes that benefit hundreds of students each year, while also building schools, equipping health centres and rolling out alternative fuel projects to reduce our carbon footprint.

“At the Dangote Cement Plant at Obajana, Kogi, for instance, we have launched several life-changing initiatives.

“Just recently, 46 solar entrepreneurs were trained and empowered to provide affordable and clean energy solutions to their communities,” he said.

Ahmed said that the trade fair has become an important forum for business networking, innovative exchanges and economic dialogue in Nigeria.

He said that the Dangote Group has carried out tree planting campaigns, provided clean water projects, expanded community healthcare services and supported youth empowerment through vocational training programmes.

Ahmed said that Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has demonstrated its commitment to creating a more conducive environment for businesses to thrive.

He said that the Dangote Group deeply appreciated the efforts, adding that its partnership with the chamber was not limited to sponsorship.

According to him, it is a strategic collaboration, founded on a vision of a prosperous, industrialised and globally competitive Nigeria.

Ahmed appreciated the business partners and dedicated dealers of Dangote products.

“Your commitment, trust and resilience have been central to the success of our brand. It is through your efforts that our products reach millions of households, construction sites and industries every day.

“You are not just partners in distribution; you are ambassadors of our vision for a stronger Nigeria.

“As we look to the future, we must all embrace responsible consumption. By choosing local, we strengthen local industries, by supporting Nigerian products, we create Nigerian wealth.

“Also by prioritising local content, we lay the foundation for an economy that is sustainable, inclusive and globally competitive,” he said.
