Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has approved the release of N2.321 billion for the settlement of pension entitlements and gratuities to retirees across the state.
The funds will also cover death benefits for families of deceased civil servants.
The disbursement covers Accrued Rights under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and Gratuity/Death Benefits under the old Defined Benefit Scheme (DBS).

With this latest payment, Kaduna State has now paid out N6.678 billion in 2025 and a total of N13.5 billion over the last two years of the current administration.
Kaduna State Commissioner of Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, said on Monday, “The welfare of pensioners remains a top priority of the government, and regular, timely payments will continue to ease the hardship of senior citizens.”
According to the Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Pension Bureau, Ibrahim Balarabe, “This latest disbursement will benefit 661 retirees and families across the State and Local Governments.”
“N1.736 billion is allocated for Accrued Rights of 511 retirees under the CPS,” he added.
“While N585 million will go to Gratuities and Death Benefits for 315 pensioners and their next-of-kin under the DBS,” Balarabe concluded.
Balarabe also added, “For those under the Contributory Pension Scheme, their Accrued Rights will be credited directly into their Retirement Savings Accounts with their respective Pension Fund Administrators.
Pensioners under the Defined Benefit Scheme will soon be invited for screening and verification before payment.”
Governor Sani remarked, “Our administration is committed to ensuring that retirees and the families of deceased workers receive their entitlements promptly.
“It is our responsibility to honour those who have served the state faithfully.”
