As Criminals Exploit Unauthorized Tints for Robbery, Kidnapping, and Evasion of Security Checks

The Anambra State Police Command has called on Ndi Anambra to fully cooperate with law enforcement officers in the ongoing enforcement of tinted glass permit regulations across the state.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, on Saturday, the Command explained that the measure is not aimed at punishing motorists but at enhancing public safety and curbing the rising misuse of tinted vehicles by criminal elements.

According to security intelligence, some criminals have been exploiting vehicles with unauthorized tinted glasses to evade security checkpoints, conceal their identities, and carry out heinous crimes such as armed robbery, kidnapping, and attacks on innocent residents.

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc, minps, PhD, stressed that the exercise is a proactive security strategy meant to ensure transparency at checkpoints, discourage criminal concealment, and protect law-abiding citizens.

He appealed for the continued cooperation of the motoring public, urging drivers to comply with the simple process of obtaining the necessary permits.
