AWKA – Nurses and Midwives under the auspices of National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Anambra State Council, have unanimously adopted Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo as their choice candidate for the November 8 governorship election in the state.
A statement of profound gratitude and appreciation to the governor jointly signed by the State Chairman, Comrade Edith Onwuka, and the State Secretary, Dr. Ikedi Onah, showed that nurses and midwives in the state were really grateful to the governor for responding proactively to their demands as evident in the governor’s recent approval for the 100% implementation of Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS).
They concurred that the approval of 100% CONHESS for health workers in the state was a demonstration of his humane disposition and commitment to the welfare and well-being of workers in the state.
As a result, nurses and midwives have declared that they are solidly behind the governor’s second term reelection bid because he surpassed their expectations.
Part of the statement read: “The state chairman, executives and members of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Anambra State Council, wish to profusely and unreservedly express our gratitude, appreciation and thanks to Your Excellency, Prof. C.C Soludo CFR, aka Olu-Atuegwu, on the approval of 100% implementation of Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) 2024 for Joint Health Workers.
“Sir, you have actually rescued our members from despondency and proved to us that you are mindful of the little sacrifices and contributions of those that have remained and determined not to be influenced by the attractions of Greener Pastures leading to job attrition in whatever disguise – Local or Diaspora.
“The approval is an irresistible option for retention, greater performance and productivity by the beneficiaries.”
They therefore reiterated their utmost resolve to reciprocate Governor Soludo’s kind gesture on November 8, this year, when they would reelect him to continue his good works in the health sector and other sectors of the state economy.
