The Nigerian Air Force’s Air Traffic Services Training Centre (ATSTC) and the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance human capacity development and promote excellence in aviation service delivery.
The agreement, signed on Friday at ATSTC Headquarters in Kaduna, aims to align training programs with global best practices to ensure safety, efficiency, and effective management of Nigeria’s civil and military air operations.
The MoU reflects the vision of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, who emphasizes capacity building, innovation, and strategic partnerships as critical to advancing airpower.
ATSTC Commandant, Group Captain Nasiru Babatunde Folaji, described the partnership as a transformative step that will facilitate specialized training in airline, airport, airspace, and meteorology operations, alongside personnel exchange programs.
“This collaboration opens new avenues for aviation training and strengthens civil-military synergy,” Folaji stated, commending NCAT’s swift commitment to the initiative.
NCAT Rector, Danjuma Adamu Ismaila, hailed the establishment of ATSTC as a strategic response to the growing demand for air traffic services training.
He emphasized that the partnership is complementary, not competitive, and pledged NCAT’s dedication to achieving the MoU’s goals.
“Together, we will elevate Nigeria’s aviation sector to meet global standards,” Ismaila said.
