The Department of State Services (DSS) has questioned Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle, also known as Sego, chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), over comments suggesting that individuals who refuse to vote for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027 would face consequences.
During a recent meeting of the Lagos State Council of NURTW, Adekunle was caught on video saying, “Anyone who refuses to vote for APC or who says he has decided to vote against APC will be dealt with, the person will learn a lesson. If you say you will not listen to us, we too will not agree.”
Following the remarks, the DSS summoned Adekunle for questioning regarding the statements.

According to SaharaReporters, in a video released on Friday and published by Goldmyne TV, Adekunle denied issuing threats to anyone. He claimed that his statements were misrepresented by opponents.
“I was invited by the DSS, and they asked me about my statements and said that someone reported me. I didn’t threaten anyone; this is the will of the people who do not want the work I’m doing in Lagos to prosper. What the DSS said they were told is not true,” he said.
He further explained, “I was only talking about our union, and I know it’s my rivals because in unions, there are rivals. You can decide to belong to any group. We know where we belong and who we want to vote for,” denying that he threatened individuals who may refuse to support APC in 2027.
