The race for the 2025-2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season continues this weekend with Matchday 7 fixtures promising some mouthwatering clashes across the country.
All eyes will be on Aba, where Enyimba, currently sitting second on the log with 12 points, welcome Rivers United in what many fans have dubbed an early NPFL title decider.
Rivers United are just a point behind with a game in hand, and both teams are unbeaten this season. “It’s going to be a massive test,” a Rivers United fan said ahead of the encounter.
In Enugu, Rangers, who are struggling in 17th place with only one win from five games, will hope to turn their season around when they host Katsina United. Katsina have been unpredictable so far, but with three wins already, they sit in sixth place and could prove a difficult hurdle for the Flying Antelopes.
Elsewhere, Nasarawa United, the current league leaders, travel to face Bendel Insurance on Saturday. With four wins in their last five matches, Nasarawa are flying high and will be keen to maintain their grip at the top.
Sunday’s action also includes Abia Warriors against Kwara United, Shooting Stars hosting Plateau United, Bayelsa United at home to Ikorodu City, and Warri Wolves squaring off against Barau. Niger Tornadoes will lock horns with Kun Khalifat, while Remo Stars welcome Wikki Tourists in Monday’s only fixture.
