Big Brother Naija has shaped Nigerian pop culture with iconic moments, love stories that trended for weeks, rivalries that sparked heated debates, and housemates who became instant celebrities. But beyond the fun and fame, the house also runs on rules. When those rules are broken, the price can be swift and final: disqualification.
Getting evicted is tough, but being thrown out for misconduct is different. Several contestants have crossed the line since the show’s return in 2017 and paid the price. Their exits, sometimes shocking and sometimes controversial, remain proof that in Big Brother’s house, no slip goes unnoticed.
Since the modern revival of the show in 2017, some housemates have learned the hard way that Big Brother’s house is no place for violence, misconduct, or broken rules. This list reminds us of one truth: Big Brother is always watching, and the door is never far away when you cross the line.
Here is the list of BBNaija housemates who have been disqualified from 2017 to date.
2017 – Kemen

The first disqualification happened in Season 2 (See Gobe).
On 5 March 2017, Kemen was sent home after he was caught touching TBoss without her consent while she slept. The scandal became a national conversation about boundaries, especially in a show that thrives on close living.
2018 – Khloe and K-Brule

In Season 3 (Double Wahala), two housemates left on the same day. Their constant outbursts, insults, and physical confrontations earned them three strikes.
On 18 February 2018, Khloe and her partner K-Brule were disqualified after a series of fights and abusive behaviour, and Big Brother showed them the exit door.
2019 – Tacha

One of the most talked-about disqualifications came in the Pepper Dem season. On 27 September 2019, Tacha was disqualified after a fight with Mercy turned physical. Fans were divided: #TeamTacha and #TeamMercy trended online for weeks, making it one of the most significant BBNaija controversies ever. Even outside the house, Tacha’s disqualification didn’t dim her star; if anything, it made her one of the show’s most talked-about alums.
2020 – Erica

In Season 5 (Lockdown), Erica Nlewedim, one of the season’s brightest stars, was disqualified on 6 September 2020. After a night of drinking, she insulted housemates, blocked the Head of House privileges, and lashed out at Laycon. She got her third strike and was disqualified. Despite the exit, Erica gained a huge fan base outside the house, which earned her a career from acting gigs to brand deals. She showed that sometimes a fall in the home is a rise outside.
2022 – Beauty

Former Miss Nigeria Beauty Tukura’s early disqualification in Season 7 (Level Up) shocked viewers. Just two weeks into the show, on 7 August 2022, she was sent home for throwing her wig and glasses at Groovy during an argument. Her exit was one of the fastest in BBNaija history.
2024 – IU Prisa
Season 9 (Showdown) had a unique case. IU Prisa was disqualified even before entering the house on 20 July 2024. She had broken confidentiality by revealing publicly that she had been chosen as a housemate. Fans called it the most unusual exit in BBNaija history.

On 2 October 2025, Faith Adewale, one of the promising housemates, was disqualified after a physical fight with fellow housemate Sultana during a task rehearsal, which injured Sultana. Big Brother quickly ended his journey.
