Oba Ladoja, Mogajis, Senators, Others In Attendance As Ibadan Organises Special Juma’at Service In Honour Of New Olubadan


In commemoration of the historic official inauguration and coronation of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, a special Juma’at Service was held today at the Ibadan Central Mosque, Ọja’ba, Ibadan as members of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Mogajis in Ibadanland, Senators, politicians were among those in attendance.

Dignitaries at the event include the President General of the CCII, Barr. Ajeniyi Ajewole, President of Ibadan Mogaji’s, Mogaji Asimiyu Ariori, former Senate leader, Senator Teslim Folarin, Senator Fatai Buhari and Senator Sharafadeen Ali.

Others were Senator Soji Akanbi, former Secretary to Osun State government, Alhaji Fatai Akinbade, and the Coordinator of Ibadan Compound Peace Initiatives (ICPI), Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade among others.

The prayer session was led by the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Grand Imam of Oyo State, and Grand Patron of the League of Imams and Alfas of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States, His Eminence, Sheikh AbdulGaniy Abubakry Agbotomokekere.

In his remark, the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheik Abubakar Agbotomokekere urged residents and indigenes of Ibadanland to support the new monarch to have a successful reign as Olubadan.

The Cleric said people should not distract the monarch so that he can focus on the progress and development of the ancient city.

He described Oba Ladoja as a leader, well respected man, whose pedigree and antecedent speaks volumes in and outside Ibadanland.

According to the Chief Imam, “Individual must see themselves as a leader, leader starts from the family, a leader should be accountable with the way he or she leads.”

The Grand Imam offered special prayers for the great monarch, asking Almighty Allah to grant Kabiyesi ARUSA 1 wisdom, sound health, and divine guidance as he reigns over the people of Ibadanland.

He also pray that Ibadanland continues to witness peace, unity, and prosperity under the reign of Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja ARUSA 1.

The prayer session concluded the programme and activities of the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa 1.

It could be recalled that Oba Ladoja, a former Senator and former governor of Oyo State was giving Staff and Instrument of Office as the Olubadan of Ibadanland by governor Seyi Makinde last week Friday at the historic Mapo Hall, Ibadan.
