Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has reassured fans that star striker Victor Osimhen will be fit for Saturday’s Turkish Super Lig showdown against Beşiktaş.

Osimhen was the hero in midweek, scoring the only goal in Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool in the Champions League. However, concerns were raised when he was taken off in the second half and replaced by Mauro Icardi, just 19 minutes from time.

Osimhen, who only recently returned from an ankle injury that sidelined him last month, was left out of the club’s final training session ahead of the derby, sparking fresh fears about his condition.

Speaking to the press, Buruk explained that the decision was purely precautionary. “Osimhen doesn’t have any serious problems,” he said, as quoted by Habersarikirmizi. “He played a match after a long time. He was suffering from cramps along with fatigue. We rested him in the last training session; we expect him to be with the team in the new training session.”

The 26-year-old’s presence is vital for Galatasaray, with his pace and finishing ability making him a constant threat to defenders. His availability will provide a huge boost as Buruk’s men prepare for one of the most anticipated fixtures in the Turkish calendar.
