Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, was conferred with the prestigious traditional title of “Sarauniyar Yaki,” meaning Queen Warrior, by the Akko Emirate in Gombe State during a ceremonial event today.
The honor recognizes her unwavering advocacy for women’s empowerment, child welfare, and maternal health initiatives across the nation.
The title was bestowed by Lamido Akko, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Atiku, during Tinubu’s two-day official visit to Gombe State, which includes inaugurating the state’s maiden Health Summit and commissioning facilities such as the Federal Medical Center in Kumo.
This summit focuses on addressing health challenges, showcasing Gombe’s achievements in the sector, and identifying solutions for broader improvements.
Tinubu, who arrived in Gombe earlier today, has been celebrated for her role in promoting the welfare of the vulnerable, particularly in empowering the girl child and advancing social development.
Her media aide, Busola Kukoyi, shared photos of the event on X, proclaiming, “Behold the Sarauniya Yakin Kumo; the Queen Warrior of Akko Emirate Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON!”
This marks another chieftaincy honor for the First Lady, following previous titles such as “Ugosimba 1 of Enugu” earlier this year, reflecting her growing influence in traditional and cultural spheres nationwide.
The Akko Emirate, part of the larger Gombe Emirate, holds deep historical significance in northern Nigeria, and the conferment underscores Tinubu’s contributions to national unity and humanitarian efforts.
