The Action Alliance (AA) governorship candidate for the November 8, 2025 Anambra election, Ozo Japhet Ezechukwu Nweke, has accused Governor Chukwuma Soludo of running a solo government.
However, Nweke acknowledged that the governor has performed creditably during his time in office.

Nweke made the comments in an exclusive interview with news men on Tuesday .
He emphasised that Anambra deserves alternative choices and strategies that can enhance governance and strengthen democracy.
“I’m not saying Soludo as governor is not doing well, but there is nothing wrong in having multiple choices. We are presenting to our people different strategies and ways of reaching our common goals,” Nweke said.
“Anambra State needs governance of inclusivity, not alienation. We shall bridge the gap between government and citizens by making people the centre of governance, not the other way round.”
On the controversial issue of zoning, Nweke dismissed it as a distraction, arguing it lacks constitutional backing.
“People in Anambra are not reasoning today based on zoning; they are reasoning based on who will govern them well,” he stated.
Addressing insecurity, Nweke pledged to reduce the menace by 80 percent within his first three months in office, linking crime to youth unemployment.
“When you have the greater percentage of our youths being employed, crime will automatically reduce because most of what we see is crime of necessity,” he explained.
He also condemned vote buying, calling it a twin evil that implicates both buyer and seller.
“If you sell your vote, you have no moral authority to question failed infrastructure.
“The money used to buy votes is taken from the public treasury. We must shun vote buying with all our might,” Nweke warned.
On economic plans, Nweke said agriculture would be central to his administration.
He aims to increase its contribution to Anambra’s GDP from 20 percent to 40–50 percent by using modern technology, improved farming systems, and a structured value chain.
“This contest is not a do-or-die affair. Leadership is for both ruling and opposition. Let us tone down rhetoric and focus on serving our people better,” he concluded.
