As the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) gears up to decentralize the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise to the 62 electoral wards in Abuja starting Monday, September 29, 2025, its FCT office has stepped up voter sensitization across the six Area Councils to enhance public participation.
The campaign, executed by INEC staff and serving corps members, included direct engagement with residents in key markets, addressing queries, facilitating voter transfers, and handling requests for replacing lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
Sensitization materials were widely distributed to inform the public.Additionally, Electoral Officers convened stakeholder meetings in their respective councils to garner community backing for the ward-based CVR rollout and other impending electoral events, especially with the FCT Area Council elections approaching.
