Balmoral Group Promotions and Bet9ja have teamed up to deliver Nigeria’s biggest and most entertaining boxing event, “Chaos in The Ring”, scheduled for October 1 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
The partnership will debut with a historic night of boxing on Nigerian Independence Day, blending world-class action with cultural celebration. The event is designed to spotlight Nigerian boxing talent, ignite national pride, and give fans an unforgettable sporting spectacle.
Presented in collaboration with former world champion Amir Khan and AK Promotions, and supported by the National Sports Commission of Nigeria, the showpiece underscores Nigeria’s growing status as a global stage for elite sport.
Speaking to journalists in Lagos, Balmoral Group Promotions CEO, Dr Ezekiel Adamu, highlighted the strong backing of the Lagos State Government and the role of corporate partnerships in making the event possible.
“I met with Mr Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and he is super-excited about this project coming to Lagos and believes it represents what the state stands for. He has given us all the support we need, from the venue to logistics and other essentials that, without them, this event would be impossible,” Dr Ezekiel stated.
He also praised headline sponsor Bet9ja and other partners, stressing the importance of resourceful collaborations.
“Not everything is about cash. Some brands are adding value by providing services and support that would otherwise cost us a lot of money. That makes a huge difference. Balmoral is not new to hosting major events, and over the years, we have learned how to leverage partnerships effectively,” he explained.
In a cultural highlight, Dr Ezekiel revealed that top Afrobeats stars will perform on fight night, serenading fans and boxers alike. He emphasised that the fusion of music and boxing is a deliberate effort to showcase Nigeria’s heritage on a global stage.
“This is our Independence celebration, and Afrobeats is one of our strongest cultural exports. We decided to infuse music and fashion into the event.
Fighters will even make their ring walks in African attire, using the platform to showcase our culture to the world,” he said.
The “Chaos in The Ring” event, set for October 1, 2025 (Nigeria’s Independence Day), is powered by Balmoral Group Promotions in partnership with Bet9ja and the Lagos State Government.
