“No Alliance Can Revive Politician Without Legacy”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State has described former Governor Aminu Tambuwal as “politically retired,” signalling a sharp rebuke from the ruling party.

The State Chairman of the party, Sadiq Achida, made the remarks while addressing journalists on Monday, in Sokoto.

According to him, Tambuwal lacks an independent political base, having risen to power largely through the influence of political godfathers, particularly Senator Aliyu Wamakko.

“No Abuja alliance, no media propaganda, no recycled coalition can revive a politician whose only legacy is propaganda and a collapsed state,” Achida said.

He added that Tambuwal’s political future was bleak, asserting that the former governor’s reliance on others had left him without substantial grassroots support.

Achida further accused Tambuwal of refusing to formally hand over to his successor in 2023, allegedly to avoid accountability for leaving Sokoto State riddled with incomplete projects.

“Tambuwal left Sokoto with abandoned projects and looted assets,” the APC chairman claimed, highlighting what he described as the remnants of mismanagement.

The party’s attack comes amid ongoing political rivalry in the state as the APC consolidates its influence ahead of future elections.

Achida maintained that Tambuwal’s past actions and alliances would prevent him from mounting a credible political comeback.

He concluded, “Politicians who rely solely on propaganda without tangible achievements have no place in our evolving political landscape.

“Sokoto people deserve leaders with accountability and proven track records.”
