The Delta State Police Command has arrested four individuals linked to a suspected kidnapping and an armed robbery syndicate, resulting in the recovery of AK-47 rifles.
The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Asaba.
According to Edafe, the operation began after the police received a distress call that a young man, whose name was withheld, had been kidnapped from his residence in Ogwashi-Uku.

“The kidnappers, after collecting a ransom of N2 million, shot his leg for not having enough money. The CP immediately detailed the command’s Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Squad to the scene.
The commander, CSP Godwin Osadolor, alongside his operatives, stormed the bush and trailed the suspects to Ogwashi-Uku bush, where the victim was rescued with gunshot injury,” the statement partly read.
Edafe said the police arrested Chukwuebuka Nka and Uche Okechukwu in Anambra State, recovering the victim’s white Venza SUV.
Their confessions led operatives to a hideout at Agidiase Village in Ogwashi-Uku, where 18-year-old Somto Chukwuma was also apprehended. Items recovered included a Toyota Matrix vehicle (registration RRT-331-AE) and a network jammer circuit device.
In a related operation, the Delta Police also dismantled a notorious armed robbery syndicate in Ekpan. Acting on intelligence, a team led by DPO Ekpan, CSP Labe Joseph, arrested 36-year-old Elvis Ebroghro and 34-year-old Abiola Adegore.
“Preliminary findings indicate that on 11 September 2025, a community security guard, Abdullahi Mohammed sighted the two persons attempting to steal a vehicle battery.
“When he challenged them, the suspects allegedly threatened to kill him if he reported the incident.
“Following Elvis Ebroghro’s confessional statement, operatives intensified their operations, leading to the arrest of another key suspect, Lucky Ebroghro.
“During the follow-up operation, one AK-47 rifle concealed inside an isolated building within Ometan Community and linked to the syndicate was recovered,” the statement concluded.
