The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested five individuals linked to criminal conspiracy, abetment, and possession of motorcycles intended to aid banditry.
The suspects, identified as Saifullahi Suleiman (37), Halidu Adamu (26), Ibrahim Abubakar (37), Sani Kabiru (22), and Mubarak Ladan (28), all from Kamba town in Dandi LGA, were apprehended on September 18, 2025, following a joint patrol led by Kamba Divisional Police Officer, SP Bello Lawal, with vigilante support.
CSP Nafiu Abubakar, the command’s spokesperson, disclosed in a Monday statement that the operation, driven by credible intelligence, resulted in the recovery of three Honda motorcycles, valued at N5.4 million, purchased from Benin Republic.
The motorcycles were allegedly destined for the Lakurawa terrorist group via a fugitive, Alhaji, from Kangiwa town in Arewa LGA.
Additionally, Mubarak Ladan was arrested for offering a N600,000 bribe to secure the release of the other suspects, with the money seized as evidence.
Commissioner of Police Bello M. Sani praised the Kamba DPO and vigilantes for their professionalism and urged other divisional officers to emulate their proactive approach.
He directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to intensify efforts to apprehend remaining suspects, emphasizing the command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks along Kebbi’s borders.
Sani appealed to residents to collaborate with security agencies to maintain a crime-free environment, underscoring the importance of community partnership in sustaining economic stability.
The suspects are under investigation, with efforts ongoing to ensure justice and enhance safety across the state.
