Manchester United U-21 coach Travis Bannion has disclosed that Chido Obi remains a key player for the club.

The youngster, who is yet to start a game this season for the Red Devils, made seven appearances last season.

In a chat with the club’s website, Bannion stated that Obi is still core part of the team and will get his chance.

“We have not even scraped the top of the iceberg with him yet. There is loads to come.

“He is dying to be a footballer. He is hungry. He is learning the game. He is learning how to project himself and how to play in a team.

“For us, he is a priority. He is 17. He needs to understand this is a golden period to develop his game.”
