A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Dan Ulasi, has declared that only God can determine whether the party will win the presidency in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Friday, Ulasi maintained that while the PDP is making efforts to reorganize, its chances of survival and eventual success lie solely in divine hands.
“Well, I’ll answer that question by saying that only God will answer that your question to say whether PDP will make the presidency in 2027.

“Only God knows who will be alive tomorrow morning and I normally make that statement, I don’t take assumptions that are beyond my control.
“We have hope or desires to want to do something, if God wills,” Ulasi said.
The PDP stalwart explained that the party’s last National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting recorded the attendance of about seven governors.
He described it as a refreshing sign of unity and commitment to rebuilding the party ahead of the next elections.
According to him, the NEC session showed that members were “discussing how to reorganize the party, put it in a stronger footing for 2027, and other subsequent elections that are coming.”
Ulasi also stressed the importance of fairness in the zoning of the PDP’s presidential ticket.
He noted that while the party has already zoned the position to the South, justice demands it should be further micro-zoned to the South East, which is yet to produce a president in the present democratic dispensation.
“So, I don’t know who the candidate will be, but… if there is honesty, like you said, they should micro zone it to the South East,” he added.
