Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ending the six-month state of emergency in Rivers State.
He described the action as a decisive move that restored democracy and prevented a looming crisis.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike commended Tinubu’s swift intervention.

He said the action reflected the President’s dedication to peace and democratic governance.
“The President has once again demonstrated his total commitment to peace and the sustenance of democracy in Nigeria,” Wike said.
“His proactive action saved Rivers State and restored the confidence of the people in his leadership.”
He further urged political stakeholders in the state to prioritize unity and the common good.
“I call on all stakeholders in Rivers State to work harmoniously for the collective interest of the state and its people,” Wike stated.
Wike also expressed gratitude to the citizens for their trust in the President and their continued support for efforts aimed at national development.
“I thank the people of Rivers State for standing firm and supporting efforts to put Nigeria back on the path of progress. Together, we can build a better future,” he said.
He emphasized that the focus should now shift to constructive governance.
“From this point forward, news coming out of Rivers State should focus on peace, progress, and development, rather than conflict,” Wike added.
