Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has stirred controversy with a new declaration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a video posted on his Instagram page on Wednesday, Portable said his support will go to whichever presidential candidate is willing to give him money, stressing that his fans will follow his lead.
“I will only vote for anyone who gives me money for the 2027 elections. Whoever drops money first between Peter Obi and Tinubu is the one I will endorse, and I will make sure my fans vote for him,” he stated.

“I’m the owner of my my money, I’m the owner of my voters card I’m the owner of my life and my family it’s anyone that drops money we’ll vote for, even if it’s Atiku’s party that gives us money or sponsor us, people are hungry, help me so that I can help my people, so you want to turn us to politics thugs”
The singer’s comment comes months after he expressed disappointment over his meeting with Labour Party’s Peter Obi in Benin City, Edo State.
Portable complained that Obi gave him nothing except a handshake, despite being on the same flight, where the politician was in economy while he was seated in first class. He suggested that if the meeting had been with President Bola Tinubu, he would have received bundles of cash.
In July, Portable met Seyi Tinubu, the President’s son, and later hailed him for “changing his life,” assuring Nigerians that things would improve under the current administration.
