UBA Clarifies Fire Incident At Lagos Island Branch, Confirms Safety Of Staff, Customers


United Bank for Africa (UBA) has clarified reports circulating online about a fire outbreak on Lagos Island, stating that its Marina head office was not affected by the incident.

The bank explained in a statement that the fire occurred at a building on Broad Street, which happens to house one of its numerous branches on Lagos Island.

“As against reports on online and social media, the affected building is not UBA House, Marina, the Bank’s head office,” UBA said.

The bank assured that precautionary measures had been taken to safeguard lives within the premises. 

“We have ensured the safety and well-being of our branch staff, customers and other visitors in the building,” the statement added.
