The 2025/26 UEFA Champions League season will officially kick-off on Tuesday September 16, 2025 with the 36-team league format.

Clubs will face eight different opponents in a single league phase, adding more high-profile clashes right from the opening round.

Tottenham Hotspur vs. Villarreal

Tottenham’s return to Europe’s elite came with plenty of expectations. Spurs were eager to stamp authority early, but Villarreal renowned for their tactical discipline offered a tricky test.
