Troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation Hadin Kai have eliminated three Boko Haram terrorists during an ambush in the Umbo Gen area of Borno State.
The incident reportedly took place on Monday evening as part of Operation Desert Sanity IV, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who disclosed the development on his official X handle.
According to Daily Post, security sources confirmed that the operation was conducted in collaboration with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and local hunters. The joint team engaged the insurgents in a heavy exchange of gunfire, forcing the terrorists to retreat.

“Three terrorists were neutralised in the operation. Troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle and an Itel mobile phone,” a source stated.
The source further added that there were no casualties recorded on the part of the Nigerian troops. However, while security within the area remains calm, authorities have described the situation as still unpredictable.
