VeryDarkMan Calls Out Dangote Group Over Hospitalised Student Abandoned 11 Months After Truck Accident

Renowned social media activist and commentator Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has accused Dangote Group of neglecting a 22-year-old lady at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital in Auchi, Edo State, after she was allegedly crushed by one of the company’s truck drivers.

In a now deleted Instagram story post on Monday, VeryDarkMan shared a video showing the lady hospitalised, claiming her medical bills have exceeded N5 million.

He also revealed that he participated in a protest against Dangote trucks in Auchi, calling on the company to take responsibility for victims of its drivers.

“On reaching the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital in Auchi, Edo State, we met an abandoned victim of Dangote’s reckless unlicensed driver, a 22-year-old girl, whom was going for her project and was crushed. She has been in the hospital for 11 months with bills of over 5 million naira; Dangote has abandoned her,” he wrote.

He added: “Let the world know that we will not be allowing any Dangote trucks today in Auchi if all victims of Dangote’s unlicensed truck drivers are not properly taken care of @dangotegroup. @aliko_dangotegcon, We can’t fight you; you are the richest man in Africa, and you command security agencies. We are only telling you to take responsibility.”

The allegations follow a recent incident involving Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Phyna Otabor, whose sister, Ruth, was reportedly hit by a Dangote truck in the same area. Three days ago, Dangote Group stated that it would cover all medical expenses for Ruth Otabor.
