The National Progressive Councilors’ Forum (NPCF) has awarded Dr Nasir Idris, Governor of Kebbi State and Kauran Gwandu, as “Best Governor Of The Year 2025” during a brief ceremony at the state government house in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

In his remark during the special visit by National Chairman of the NPCF, Hon. Muslihu Yusuf Ali, who led the group said, “His Excellency deserves this award because of his effort on reviving a standard of local government welfare and development in the state, which he had approved and directed to released the sum of 2.85 billion for the payments of all outstanding entitlements and allowances of former and serving councilors, chairmen, vice chairmen, secretaries, supervisory councilors and advisors of all local governments since 1999 to date regardless of their political affiliation.”

In his acceptance speech, Governor Idris who is Kauran Gwandu said, “I appreciate… this surprise gift being at possession is a great honor from God and I pray Almighty Allah to give me more courage and wisdom to do more to the development of the state and to the entire residents.”

During the presentation event, the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Yakubu Bala (Tafidan Yawiri), and the Commissioner of Local Governments, Hon. Abubakar Dutsenmari, expressed their appreciation to the team while the closing remark was made by Hon. Aminu Dulaiman (DG TSO).
