The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared that the battle for Nigeria’s future must begin from the grassroots, as the party unveiled its Road Map to Victory and the African Democratic Congress Supporter’s Organization Nationwide, ADC-SON Working Document on Friday in Abuja.
Deputy National Chairman of the party, Dr. Bamidele Ajadi, disclosed this at the official unveiling of ADC-SON FCT 2026 Area Council Election, Action Plan/Appointment Letters Presentation, on Friday in Abuja
He stressed unity and resilience, urging members to resist being swayed by “little things” offered by political opponents.
“I don’t think you can grow your business now as it is before. ADC is my home and as one we can get it done, we shouldn’t because of little things they are going to give us go astray, we need to be one, we need to be active,” Ajadi declared.
Ajadi, who was represented at the event by Hon. Anie Gift, the National Director of Contact & Mobilization of the party, emphasised that true power lies with the people at the base.
“People at the grassroots are those who make those in the National Assembly and the Villa, so they need to recognize everybody that is here and at the grassroots, we need to mobilise as grassroters, we need to go back to our wards, polling units, to mobilise, because what is happening in Nigeria now is affecting everybody, even people at the top are being affected,” he stated.
In his address of welcome, the National Secretary of ADC-SON, Amb. Oguh Hyginus John, underscored the group’s role as a critical driver of the party’s mission.
“We are the special purpose vehicle, engineered to complement the efforts of the party and to be a critical force in delivering Nigeria from its present socio-economic challenges. We are fully operational in 35 states of Nigeria and the FCT, a testament to the widespread belief in our cause and the potency of our vision.
“The journey to reclaiming the mandate of the people and delivering good governance begins with a plan. Today, we present that plan. We are confident that with this roadmap, the dedication of our leaders, the passion of our members, and the support of the people of the FCT, the African Democratic Congress is poised to clinch victory in all six Area Councils in 2026 and beyond,” he declared.
Adding his voice, Chairmanship Candidate of the ADC for Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the 2026 elections, Dr. Moses Paul, described support groups as the “lifeblood” of the movement.
“Support groups are not just an addition to our party, they are the lifeblood of this movement. They are the ones who take the message of the ADC beyond the city centers into the villages, from the campuses to the marketplaces. Without them, our vision is an echo; with them, it becomes a powerful chorus that ordinary Nigerians can hold on to,” Paul said.
He added that in politics, trust remains the ultimate currency, stressing that ADC’s support groups embody the values of the party within communities across the FCT and the country.
“In politics, trust is the greatest currency, and our support groups embody the values of ADC within their communities. They engage families, youth, women, workers, and elders, not only campaigning, but listening, empathizing, and building bonds that money cannot buy. They are the human bridge between our party and the people.
“Support groups also stand as guardians of democracy. They are the eyes, the ears, and the voices that safeguard the vote. They defend against manipulation, they protect the mandate, and they ensure that the will of the people is never subverted. They turn hope into vigilance, and vigilance into victory,” he said.
With the unveiling of the ADC-SON action plan, party leaders expressed confidence that the movement will provide Nigerians with a credible alternative to reclaim power at the grassroots level and beyond in the 2026 elections.
