A 100-level student of Taraba State University (TSU), Jalingo, identified as Comfort Jimtop, has been discovered dead inside her boyfriend’s apartment under unclear circumstances.

Comfort, who was studying Mass Communication at TSU, hailed from Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State. Her lifeless body was reportedly found on Friday afternoon.

Sources disclosed that the police recovered empty bottles of alcoholic drinks beside the bed where the deceased was discovered.

Daily Trust reports that the building where the body was found has about 15 tenants. However, all the tenants, including the occupant of the room where the student’s body was seen, allegedly fled the premises after the incident.

Confirming the development in a telephone interview with Daily Trust, the Police Public Relations Officer in Taraba, ASP Leshen James, said the deceased’s boyfriend, identified as Emmanuel Shata, is also a student of the university.

“When our officers arrived at the house where the student died, nobody was found in the apartment,” James stated.

He further explained that investigations have commenced, and efforts are ongoing to track down Shata and the other tenants who vacated the building.
