Six People Rescued As Bandits Attack Lamuntani Village In Katsina


Six abducted residents have been rescued after suspected bandits launched an attack on Lamuntani Village in Goran Dansaka Ward, Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday when armed bandits invaded the community. According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, who disclosed the development in a post on Thursday, the attackers were confronted by a combined team of police officers, military personnel, and local vigilantes.

The security operatives reportedly engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle, which forced the assailants to retreat into the surrounding bushes.

Those rescued unhurt were identified as Aisha Rilwanu, 12; Zainab Mansir, 15; Munnir Sani, 19; Salamatu Umar, 19; Asmau Sani, 10; and Jamila Nasiru, 21.

According to Daily Post, as the bandits fled, they reportedly attacked nearby Santan Kargo Village, injuring three residents. The victims — Yusuf Yushau (30), Ismail Abubakar (21), and Abdulmumin Sani — were rushed to Malumfashi General Hospital for treatment.

Security forces have intensified search operations in the area as two persons remain missing following the attack.
