PSG Humiliated Donnarumma To Please Enrique –Ex-Napoli Star

Former Napoli fullback Faouzi Ghoulam has condemned Paris Saint-Germain’s decision to humiliate Gigio Donnarumma in order to please manager Luis Enrique.

Recall that the Italian international has moved to the Etihad Stadium in a deal worth €30 million ($40.2m). He’s signed a five-year contract to replace Ederson in Pep Guardiola’s squad.

Reacting to PSG’s maltreatment of Donnarumma, who played a key role in helping the Paris club win the Champions League, Ghoulam, in a chat with Il Corriere dello Sport, stated that PSG will struggle to defend their Champions League crown without the Italian.

“Donnarumma? PSG made a huge mistake and showed disrespect to Gigio.

“They wanted to please Luis Enrique because he won, but you can’t do this to a totemic player who was crucial to the victories themselves.

“Gigio is one of the two or three best goalkeepers in the world and will be among the top ten for the Ballon d’Or, but what would have happened if (Pep) Guardiola hadn’t arrived?

“I can’t explain it because it’s an inexplicable choice. It’s stupid!”
