Ondo State House of Assembly has lauded the new Vice Chancellor of the state owned University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Prof Ebunoluwa Adejuyigbe, saying that her initiatives and plans for the university will rank it among the top universities in the world.
The chairman, House committee of tertiary education, Hon. Chris Ayebusiwa who led members of the committee on a visit to the university acknowledged the academic delivery at UNIMED and promises the university the needed support to continue to thrive.
Describing the Vice Chancellor as an astute and pragmatic leader, the lawmaker said “the Vice-Chancellor assumed office only few months ago, but the quality of her relationship with the House of Assembly seems to have been nurtured for years.”
Hon. Ayebusiwa, promised on behalf of the state House of Assembly to give the university the needed support as and when due.
He said “On our part as a committee, we will also be there for this university as and when due. This is a university that is particularly dear to our hearts because of its numerous distinctions.”
While other committee members who spoke during the visit raised some observations on areas where the University needs to do more, they unanimously agreed that the “quality of academic delivery at the university is top-notch.”
Responding, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adejuyigbe appreciated the committee for the visit, highlighting her vision for the institution and assured the committee that the university will continue to be on upward trajectory and remain a pride to the state, the nation and the world at large.
Members of the Committee on the familiarisation visit included Hon. Chris Ayebusiwa, Hon. Abitogun Rotimi Stephen, Hon. Agbulu Tope Akeem and Hon, Oguntodu Olajide Johnson.
