The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially recognised the new leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The party is now led by former Senate President, Senator David Bonaventure Mark, who assumes the role of National Chairman.
The announcement was made in Abuja on Wednesday, following updates to the party’s particulars.

According to INEC, the newly recognised National Working Committee of the ADC is chaired by Sen. Mark, with former Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, appointed as National Secretary.
Other key appointments include Dr. Mani Ibrahim Ahmad as National Treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary, and former Edo State Governor, Prof. Oserheimen Aigberaodion Osunbor, as National Legal Adviser.
“This recognition comes after months of leadership tussle within the party and signifies a new chapter for the ADC,” INEC stated on Wednesday.
“We are confident that this leadership will bring stability, unity, and a clear vision for the party as it prepares for the 2027 elections,” the commission added.
Sen. Mark, reacting to the announcement, said, “We are grateful for INEC’s recognition and are committed to ensuring that the ADC becomes a strong and credible opposition party.
“Our focus will be on strengthening grassroots structures and engaging citizens meaningfully.”
Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola also noted, “This is a time for collective effort. Every member has a role to play in building a party that can offer Nigerians real alternatives in governance.”
The development is expected to stabilise the party and provide a clear direction as it positions itself ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We urge all members to rally behind the leadership and work towards a united ADC that reflects the aspirations of Nigerians,” the INEC statement concluded.
