Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has declared that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is “dead and buried.”
He alleged that the opposition party is now being controlled by agents of the All Progressives Congress (APC) operating from the Presidential Villa.
Speaking on Prime Time, an Arise Television programme, on Monday, Melaye, a key member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), said the PDP no longer functions as an independent party.

In his words: “Apart from our Lord Jesus Christ no dead can rise again, and I want to tell you that whatever you are seeing is make-shift.
“The dead is dead, we can only advertise the obituary. Dead and buried, PDP was sold and I’m not sure if they got the receipt of payment, but it was sold and what you have now is APC-controlled PDP.
“It’s a party that is being controlled from the Villa, it’s the agents of the APC that control the PDP.”
The former lawmaker also responded to comments by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, about the party’s state of affairs. Melaye said: “If a sitting governor is saying let’s have a party first, it means that there is no party.”
Expressing confidence in his current political base, Melaye added: “I’m a proud member of the ADC and that is the party that will unseat Tinubu and, by the grace of God, send Tinubu out of the Villa come May 29, 2027.”
