The people of Festac Town and its environs on Monday witnessed another milestone in community development as the Festac First Gate Street Lights were officially commissioned, alongside a tour of the designated layout land for the construction of a Mechanic Village and Modern Market in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The event was held under the joint leadership of Prince Lanre Sanusi, Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, and the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), custodians of Festac Town’s Development.

In his remarks, Sanusi re-affirmed his administration’s commitment to infrastructural renewal and community empowerment.

He stated that the newly-installed street lights will improve security, enhance night-time economic activities, and beautify one of the busiest gateways into Festac Town.

He further noted that the proposed Mechanic Village and Market will provide artisans and traders with a structured environment, reduce roadside congestion, and create jobs for residents.

Representatives of the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) described the projects as a testament to effective collaboration between local government and federal agencies.

They assured residents of FHA’s continued partnership in ensuring proper land allocation, sustainable planning, and infrastructure that meets modern standards.

Community stakeholders and residents applauded the initiative, stressing that the projects signal a renewed era of purposeful leadership and development in Amuwo-Odofin Local Government Area.
