Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu has cautioned people against endangering their lives for the sake of romantic relationships.
In a viral video on Monday, Agu advised: “Don’t die to save a relationship, instead kill the relationship to save your life. Love shouldn’t come at the cost of your life.”
His comments have since triggered mixed reactions on social media.

One user remarked, “He spoke the truth, though not easy to heed in reality…” while another added, “Na who dey alive dey do relationship. Staying alive is the key, no allow yeye love make you kpai.”
Chiwetalu Agu, born in 1956 in Enugu State, is celebrated for his unique use of witty slang in Nollywood films. He is also a recipient of the 2012 Nollywood Award for Best Actor in an Indigenous Movie.
