Bandits launched fresh attacks in Zamfara and Kaduna States on Sunday morning, abducting worshippers and leaving several others dead and injured.
The assault in Zamfara reportedly occurred in Dansadau town during the early morning Subhi prayer, where gunmen stormed the mosque and kidnapped a number of worshippers.
Security analyst, Bakatsine, disclosed the incident in a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating:

“This morning, bandits attacked worshippers during Subhi prayer in Dansadau, Zamfara State, abducting several. Around 6 a.m., they also struck Wakeh in Kaduna State, killing and injuring residents.”

In a separate but related attack, armed bandits invaded Wakeh village in Kaduna State at about 6 a.m., opening fire on residents. The assault reportedly left casualties, with some victims feared dead and others injured.
According to Bakatsine, the series of coordinated assaults highlights the worsening insecurity across the Northwest, which has remained under siege as bandit attacks continue to escalate.
As of the time of filing this report, security agencies are yet to release an official statement regarding the incidents.
