Trump issues ‘last warning’ to Hamas, says Israel has accepted ceasefire term

United States President Donald Trump has issued a “last
warning” to Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist movement that governs the Gaza
Strip, to accept his peace deals.

In a statement via his Truth social media platform on
Sunday, Trump said Israel has accepted his terms, adding that the
responsibility now lies with Hamas.

Trump said “everyone wants the hostages home” and “everyone
wants this war to end”, warning Hamas of “consequences” if it fails to accept
the deal.

“The Israelis have accepted my terms. It is time for Hamas
to accept as well. This is my last warning, there will not be another one,” he
wrote.

Trump has increasingly positioned himself as a broker in the
conflict, claiming his intervention is necessary to bring both sides to the
table.

His comments come amid stalled negotiations mediated by
Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, following weeks of heavy Israeli
bombardment of Gaza in response to Hamas’ October 7 attack.

In July, Trump announced that Israel had agreed to a 60-day
ceasefire with Hamas.

“The Qataris and Egyptians, who have worked very hard to
help bring peace, will deliver this final proposal,” Trump said.

“I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes
this Deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE.”

Meanwhile, the first phase of the ceasefire deal reached in
January suffered a setback in March after the Jewish nation launched a surprise
attack in Gaza, killing over 300.
