Deputy National Chairman (North) of All Progressive Congress (APC)), Hon Ali Bukar Dalori, has called for intense campaigns of Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) in Borno communities affected by flood and insurgency.
Dalori, who led a mobilisation campaign to his ward in Konduga Local Government Area, on Sunday, said obtaining the CVR is essential for eligible citizens to exercise their civic rights and participate meaningfully in the democratic process.
“Therefore, we must ensure that all these vulnerable groups exercise their civic rights in the upcoming general election, ” he said.

Dalori explained that the mobilisation drive became necessary considering that many of the victims either lost, misplaced or had no access to their voter cards, due to the flood disaster or insurgents attacks that displaced millions of people.
“Some were even underage during the 2023 election, but have now reached voting age. We have come to mobilise all of them to participate in the ongoing CVR exercise to vote in the 2027 general elections,” Dalori said.
Responding, the youth leader, Bulama Modu, said the turnout of the residents was an indication that people were interested to express their civic rights.
“You encourage us to defy security threats, especially in these days of suicide attacks to participate in the exercise. I believe it’s a good sign ahead of the 2027 general elections,” he said.
A community leader, Aishatu Umar, commended Dalori for the mobilisation visit and promised to carry the message forward.
“Many people, especially women have lost voter cards to the disaster that befell us, but with this encouragement, we will not relent on the campaign to ensure that every woman gets a new voter card,” she said.
