APC dominates by-elections, ADC fails to win any seat


The All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged victorious in the majority of seats contested during Saturday’s by-elections across 16 constituencies in 13 states, while the African Democratic Congress (ADC) failed to secure a single win.

Reports as of this press revealed that the APC won 12 seats, while the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) claimed two seats, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) secured one seat each.

The vacant seats in the Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Onitsha North 1, Anambra South Senatorial District, and Bagwai Shanono Constituency were filled by PDP, APGA, and NNPP candidates, respectively.

ADC, which had fielded candidates as part of its first major electoral test since being adopted as a platform by opposition leaders vowing to unseat the APC in 2027. The by-elections featured 637 candidates from 17 political parties contesting for 68 seats.
